Our meeting point is in front of the beautiful Teatro Macedonio Alcalá, one of the most iconic cultural landmarks in the city. Just look for the yellow umbrella, which is our tour’s distinctive sign. From there, we’ll begin a journey through the historic center of Oaxaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning colonial architecture, colorful streets, and vibrant atmosphere. During the tour, we will visit several important historic buildings and landmarks in the city center, while exploring how Oaxaca developed from a colonial city into the cultural capital it is today. But this tour goes beyond the main tourist streets. We will also walk through part of one of the oldest neighborhoods in Oaxaca, an area with prehispanic origins where local traditions, community life, and history are still very much alive. This part of the tour offers a unique perspective that many visitors never get to experience. The goal of this tour is simple: to help you experience Oaxaca like a local, not just like a tourist.
